Myths about counselling therapy
I don't need a therapist. I can just talk to my friends or family. While it is important to have the support of friends and family, it can be difficult for them to be objective in their advice as they are too emotionally close to you. Therapists on the other hand are trained in how to be objective, find the root of your problems and guide you to a solution.
Therapy is only for mentally ill people who can't handle their problems. I should be able to manage this myself.
